I am a qualified and accredited Supervisor providing supervision for students in hypnotherapy training and qualified hypnotherapists.
Supervision is considered a vital process of maintaining a safe, competent and ethical therapy practice. Supervision gives you the opportunity to discuss client cases and work through them in confidence. It also gives you time to work through any personal matters that may affect your own position or ability to practice.
What is Supervision?
A working relationship between 2 or more people giving:
- Support
- Structure
- Feedback
- Development
- Reflection
Supervision offers you the opportunity to:
- Maintain professionalism and Competency
- Identify any problems within your practice
- Explores the applications you employ
- Personal development
- Transference and Projections
- Issues around charging for your time
- Personal Boundaries
- Time keeping
- Staying grounded and Centred with your client
- Exploring possible triggers for you and your client
- Highlights “burn-out” warning signs.
Supervision is another pair of eyes and ears on your work – hence the word “Super – Vision”
Supervision is invaluable in helping you maintain, safe, competent and ethical practice.
One to one Supervision
This is held between the Supervisor (me) and the Supervisee (you) on a monthly basis (for full time therapists) or bi-monthly for newly qualified therapists.
Whichever supervisor you choose, the Supervisor must hold a qualification in Supervision and also hold a higher level of qualification or experience to the Supervisee
Supervision sessions last 1 hour and fees are charged at £60 per session.
Shorter sessions can be arranged in addition to your regular supervision.
A Supervision contract is also agreed and signed between both parties.
As your supervisor, I will outline any areas for development or targets to reach plus a brief review of the session. The supervisee will be required to give a summary of the supervision session to the supervisor after each meeting.
Supervision is held face to face in Tonbridge or Hawkhurst, Kent or via Zoom (online platform).
Newly qualified therapists are expected to engage in Supervision in their first two years of practice for 2 hours in any 3- month period of time. Therapists in full time practice are required to engage in monthly supervision for 1-1.5 hours depending on your membership body requirements.
Following the two years, supervision is voluntary, however, most membership accrediting bodies strongly recommend continuing Supervision as a requirement for membership. It is also important to log and record your supervision as you may be asked for evidence from your accrediting membership body.
Supervision offers you the opportunity to maintain professional practice and safeguards you as the therapist and your clients.
I look forward to supporting you in your practice.
Online therapy support offered via ZOOM or FaceTime. Clinics held in Hawkhurst and Tonbridge, Kent.
